August is a glorious month – achingly hot in the day, then clouds can bubble up late in the afternoon to create blazing sunsets that are like works of art.
In the warm evenings, all the heady scents of our garden rise up to perfume the air: orange flower, rose and geranium mingle with rockrose and fennel; a perfect frame to the painting in the sky.

Information
- A blend of 100% natural waxes – sustainably sourced organic soy, rapeseed and beeswax
- No palm oil used in our unique blend
- Our blend only uses crops grown or raised without synthetic fertilisers, pesticides or hormones and can be deemed organic by this definition
- Clean burning
- Sulphur-free
- Paraben-free
- Wicks are lead-free and made from natural fibre
- All free from animal testing
- La Montaña candles are 30cl, 220gms (minimum 40 hours burn)
- All candles are individually hand-poured by artisan candlemakers in the UK
- We use a high % of fragrance oil in each candle (including a high percentage of natural and essential oils)
- All candles are gift-boxed and are fitted with an etched, stainless steel lid
Candle Care
- The first time you light your candle, let it burn until all the wax on the surface has become liquid
- Trim the wick before each use
- When extinguishing the candle, ensure the wick is upright and centred for next time
Safety
- Do not burn for longer than 4 hours
- Never leave a lit candle unattended, or in a draught, and keep away from flammable materials
- Always leave at least 10cms between burning candles
- Keep out of reach of children and pets
- Place candle on a heat resistant surface

This is summer in a candle. The aroma is gorgeous and drifts across like a scent faintly wafted on a warm breeze. It’s the smell of a day well spent in the sun, pleasing yourself and with no obligations. It makes me think of eating in the square below the Alhambra, the odd waft of gardens and heat on stones or brick. Oh I love this one.

When I heard that the new La Montana candle was called August Sunset I just had to try it! I’m an August baby and was hoping for something that would really conjure up the warmth and scents of a hot August night and boy does this candle deliver!! It may even have knocked Sacred Roses off the top spot in my personal ranking of La Montana candles……and that was always going to take some doing!!

This is so so good! When you smell this for the first time you are transported to a late August afternoon/evening at Kew Gardens, the scent of flowers is quite frankly out of this world, you have the heavenly fragrance of orange blossom, vintage rose & the beautiful perfume of geraniums. This combo just takes you away to a beautiful summer evening when you are in your garden, the heat has calmed down & the garden itself comes alive with the scents of summer. The candle itself burns evenly & cleanly & you also get La Montanas lovely silver lid to protect your candle!
This is absolutely gonna be a best seller & one I will keep buying!

Such a beautiful warming but clean scent. Not too floral or overbearing – it really does smell like an early evening abroad. When I walk in the living room when it’s burning you don’t immediately know there’s a scented candle, you just wonder what the beautiful smell is for a while….exactly what you want from a candle in my opinion! Great addition to the range, and love the vintage poster style label on the front.

I got this on faith that it would be as good as La Montaña’s usual standard, as I’m not normally a fan of floral scents – and am delighted to be proved absolutely correct. Once again, they have taken an idea and produced something so original – I’m not at all sure how they do it. It is heady with florals, yes, but there is a clean greenness that cuts through and really frames the floral notes perfectly. Sadly I haven’t seen one of the famous Spanish mountain sunsets in person, but if it’s anything like as spectacular as the fragrance it inspired, it must be a sight to behold!

Honestly one of the most enticing, delicious, fiery scents I have ever encountered. Have only been burning it for 2 days but EVERYONE has commented on the scent it is emitting and I am just in love! It is AMAZING!

It would take an awful lot to make me turn my head from the ‘First Light’ candle, (which I burn every day and won’t travel without), but ‘August Sunset’ has done it. This is such a gorgeous and sumptuous fragrance that swells to fill the room, like the light it describes. There is something both heady and pillowy about this scent, intoxicating yet also calming, soft but rich. Honestly, if I could wear it I’d douse myself in it! And unlike some summer fragrances that smell slightly out of place if burnt out of season, there is a just a hint of something almost brandied in there making it perfect for a summer evening or curled up inside. And just to add I’ve never seen a candle burn so uniformly well! I couldn’t be a bigger fan. And it’s the perfect opposite of First Light both in evocation and scent.
