Raisin liqueur with spices
Raisin liqueur with spices
Mistela is a Valencian dessert wine usually served at family celebrations, or when lingering after a good meal; it’s a festive blend of raisins and exotic spices often served with a curl of orange peel, or even a coffee bean… The fragrance is distinctive and original yet at the same time warm and familiar. And utterly more-ish.

I’m not sure why, but this candle gives good Christmas and homely feel good vibes. Maybe as it’s scented with spices and liquor, maybe it’s just the warmth of the aroma. It’s comforting but not dull, warm but not cloying, perfumed but not heady, it just gives a lift to the room and my day. My new favourite!

Hi Sles
It seems like you’ve been a customer since just about the very beginning; we love that we can still come up with the goods for you – and we LOVE that you let us know! Thank you.

I adore this aroma! It reminds me of balmy summer evenings with the warmth and spice of liqueurs and the residual heat of lazy, late summer evenings. I love the fact that, like Alfredo’s restaurant, it is so evocative and unusual and reminds me of good times past and those to come! These are my favourite candles and have replaced Diptique as my ultimate buys.

“Reminds me of good times past and those to come” – LOVE that! Thank you, Jane.

This candle is a complete joy! The notes of spice and subtle sweetness are so warm and comforting – it’s everything you want to come home to in the autumn/winter months. Love, love, love. I want one in every room!
Jonathan Hall –
Unless you have more than eleven rooms, we actually do have a fragrance for every room! Thanks, Georgie.

Absolutely love this new addition to the La Montaña collection. Its warmth and spiciness make it perfect for Autumn, but it’s in no way cloying or overly sweet – there is something almost marzipan-y in there that makes it so unique. Such a clever idea, not that I expected anything different from such a brilliant company.

A delivery from La Montana is always a magical event. I eagerly awaited the new fragrance to this most delightful candle collection and Mistela certainly was worth waiting for.
It has the rich warm aroma of a traditional cafe or bodega which has
literally soaked up (marinaded?) over the years the deep and welcome aroma good
times, laughter, music, fine wines and the gourmet treats of the Bon
viveur A deep raisin fragrance with a warm amber like musk behind it
adds reassuring atmosphere to a grown up evening of friendship and
warm hospitality The illustration on the candle is always on pointe
too and adds to the chic cosy glow grab a cashmere throw, open the red
wine and light the candles, open the door to your friends or slink
into the solace of solitude – Mistela is a feel good ingredient to any
evening
Jonathan Hall –
What a glorious review! Thank you so much, Carole Anne.

So I really didn’t know what to expect when I opened “Mistela” for the first time, I was such (and still am) a massive “Alfredo’s Cafe” fan, but you could of knocked me down with a feather when I smelt “Mistela!” (Rhyming not intended!)
It’s a spicy, raisiny, boozy little firecracker of a candle scent with a hint of orange peel & cinnamon and a whole lot of hocus pocus thrown in to make an absolute showstopper of a candle!
This is the kind of scent you want burning in these stormy autumn/winter evenings curled up on the sofa with a giant glass of the warm stuff!
As you walk past, the throw of the candle gives you scents of golden spirits, Christmas cake and a spicy warmness that fills the room with a noticeable but not overpowering fragrance, it’s the type of scent that you would stop & ask about it’s that different & unique!
As you would expect from La Montana, the quality is there with a good clean even burn & the obligatory silver candle lid to protect your candle.
This will be a definite repeat purchase, a little sister for Alfredo’s Cafe!
I need to be getting my hands on a bottle of this amazing “Mistela” if the candle is this bloody good I need to see/taste what this special liqueur is all about!
